Biography

Jonathan Banchick was born July 9, 1965 in Brockton Massachusetts. Drawing from an early age he began copying from comic books and fantasy art. In his early teens Jonathan entered the Commercial Art program at Southeastern Vocational Technical High School and graduated with a three year concentration in Commercial Art. Later that year he began college at the Massachusetts College of Art where he later graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Illustration.

After doing freelance illustration for a year after Mass. Art, Jonathan took a job in the Advertising Department of Filene's Department Store in 1989. Through his employment at Filene's he rose from shooting camera stats to become the Assistant Manager of Filene's in-house color imaging department. Another bonus came from working at Filene's... he met his future wife Maria there just weeks after he started.

Jonathan joined Quad/Graphics in the fall of 2000 and has become one of their top Color Mac operators and also holds the position of Color Imaging Specialist.

Family life, home ownership and two dogs (Chet a ten year old Jack Russell Terrier and Scout a five year old Pit Bull Terrier) keep him pretty busy these days but he still occasionally finds time for freelance illustration projects.

Playing Golf has become a new hobby to go along with playing and coaching Baseball. Collecting baseball cards and comic books fill his closets to the brim. A huge fan of Science Fiction and horror he enjoys reading and watching films of these genres.
